DWC Merges Goleta and Oxnard Offices
DWC Merges Goleta and Oxnard Offices Effective November 30 The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) announced today that the Goleta District Office will close and merge with the Oxnard office on November 30. The last day that hearings will be scheduled in Goleta will be Friday, November 29.All cases currently in Goleta will be transferred to the Oxnard District Office, approximately 45 miles south. The seven DWC employees in Goleta will also transfer to the Oxnard office. The Goleta closure will consolidate resources and create savings for future DWC needs, including hiring. Oxnard has sufficient space to accommodate the Goleta staff, who will begin work there on Monday, December 2. “We appreciate the valuable service provided by the Goleta District Office over the past several years. However, due to the high cost of leasing the Goleta facility and the proximity and space availability of the Oxnard office, the consolidation of these two offices is clearly in the best interest of the state. The savings recouped by this move will significantly enhance our ability to maintain our operations,” said Department of Industrial Relations Director Christine Baker. DWC is a division of DIR. Information on the Oxnard District Office, including directions, is available on the DWC website.
